Islands (Orkney)

Tasting Notes

Nose: Heather honey, gentle peat smoke, dried orange peel, and a whisper of brine carried on the Orkney wind. A complex and inviting opening.

Palate: Rich and rounded. Warm spiced ginger, dark chocolate, and caramelised toffee give way to a gentle, smoky sweetness. The maritime character provides depth.

Finish: Long and warming, with lingering heather and a clean, dry peat smoke that fades to honeyed warmth.

Bottle II of III

Bunnahabhain — 14 Years

Bunnahabhain Distillery · Port Askaig, Islay

Age
14 Years
ABV
42% Vol
Volume
20cl
Region
Islay

Tasting Notes

Nose: Fresh sea air and salted caramel, with notes of walnut, dried fruits, and a delicate sherry sweetness. Unpeated Islay at its most elegant.

Palate: Full-bodied and nutty. Roasted hazelnut and dark toffee mingle with juicy raisins. A coastal mineral quality adds intrigue and complexity throughout.

Finish: Medium to long. A gentle salinity persists alongside dried fruits and a hint of dark chocolate.

Bottle III of III

Glengoyne — 14 Years

Glengoyne Distillery · Dumgoyne, Highland

Age
14 Years
ABV
42% Vol
Volume
20cl
Region
Highland

Tasting Notes

Nose: Green apples, toffee, and vanilla cream. There’s a lovely sweetness here — air-dried barley and a touch of cinnamon spice. Wonderfully approachable.

Palate: Smooth and sherried. Rich Christmas cake, golden syrup, and roasted almonds. The slow distillation process creates exceptional depth for the unpeated Highland character.

Finish: Long and warming, with lingering toffee sweetness and a gentle oaky dryness that invites the next sip.
